Heidi Gerstacker is known for her subtle and delicate work based upon nature. Her pieces reflect a minimal geometric design sensibility with which she explores the theme of seasonal adaptations of plants, insects and the weather. Her work incorporates traditional metalsmithing and vitreous enameling.
Originally from Germany, Heidi Gerstacker is an artist/metalsmith/jeweler/educator based in Houston Texas. She received her MFA from University of Houston in Jewelry and Metalsmithing and her BFA from University of Texas at Austin. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally in curated and juried exhibitions. It can be found in the Smithsonian American Art Museum, City of Houston Civic Art Collection, CCAC for Museum of Contemporary Craft, Dahl Fine Arts Center and the Ollie Trout Collection at University of Texas.
